Thalia's Updates for This Term

If you would like to discuss any of these updates, please feel free to contact Thalia at surepresentation@rvc.ac.uk.

1 - Thalia successfully worked with the other Students' Union Officers to advocate for changes to the shuttle bus timetable so that it better aligned with train schedules. This issue was raised through several university committees, resulting in a successful timetable change.

2 - Thalia presented the Students' Union Audit to the Student Development Committee, initiating discussions on improvements to student common room facilities, investment in outdoor sports facilities, enhancements to the prayer room, and the creation of a dedicated space for performing arts and music societies.

As a result, the University has established a working group to collaborate with the Students' Union on delivering these priorities over the coming year.

3 - Thalia advocated on behalf of students regarding the challenges posed by the distant and costly examination venue. The Students' Union and the University are now exploring the possibility of securing a more accessible, fixed examination venue in King's Cross from July onwards.

4 - Thalia attended the graduation ceremonies and formally accepted the role of Students' Union President 2026-2027 during the ceremonial proceedings.

5 - Thalia has continued discussions with the medical apparel brand FIGS regarding a potential free coffee cart pop-up for students during particularly stressful periods.

6 - Thalia represented the student voice in discussions with the Office for Students, providing valuable feedback that contributed to the establishment of the new University working group focused on delivering real-time investment in the student experience.
