Welcome to RVC Music Society, the runner-up Society of the Year 2026! If you consider yourself a music maker or lover, this is the society for you!

We act as an umbrella group for our subgroups- Orchestra, Choir and Songsmiths, which supports musicians of all genres, instruments and standards. (No audition needed- only commitment and a desire to have fun 🥳)

Orchestra has functioned as a pit orchestra for the annual musical in previous years, but we’re doing something different this year- we’ll be working on classical pieces as well as film and theatre scores 🎻🎺

Choir works on classical choral pieces such as carols for our Christmas service and beautiful compositions that are perfect to harmonise to 🎤🎶

Songsmiths functions as a pop band and welcomes singers and instrumentalists alike! We choose songs to perform together and participate in showcases and pub performances 🎸🥁

We offer multiple performing opportunities throughout the year, such as Open Mics, concerts, carol services and our annual Summer Showcase! We also host socials such as movie nights, pub crawls and musical trips to the theatre so keep an eye out and don’t miss out on the fun!

Everyone is more than welcome no matter if you love singing, playing an instrument or simply vibing to music! Those who don’t sing or play an instrument can join us a social member for half the price, which gives you discounts for socials and theatre trips. Besides, you get to meet a bunch of amazing people and bond over our love for music- what’s not to love?
