Welcome to the RVC’s Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society!
SVECCS is one of the largest and most active clubs at the RVC, offering a range of events tailored to all learning styles for those interested in one of the most exciting aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery (we're not bias - promise!)... Emergency and Critical Care, which has you quite literally, saving lives each day!
In the 2023/24 academic year we will be organising monthly events on topics that go beyond what you're taught in the classroom, from case based and interactive discussions and seminars on all kinds of emergency presentations, to practicals for suturing, CPR and a whole host of other exciting ideas! We're fully interprofessional and welcome vets, nurses, and biovets!
Many of our committee members also hold positions across other societies, giving us the chance for great collaboration on joint events! As an externally recognised and accredited society with NSVECCS and VECCS, you can also be sure to develop your connections in the field with industry experts both at the RVC and beyond, as well as networking, bursaries and both student and graduate oppurtnities with Veterinary Emergency Group, VetsNow, and others!
Whichever branch of veterinary you see in your future, ECC skills are VITAL, and scary as it can be, we also believe it can be extremely rewarding! And we can help prepare you for that in a safe and fun environment! Join us to develop those invaluable skills and confidence so when you get an emergency through the door, you know just what to do!
