I am an ex-gateway, first year BVetMed student looking to become your next SU Camden Officer! I would be great for the role as I have relevant experience and am very enthusiastic about ensuring Camden students are supported in their studies. Having come from the gateway program, I shared my classes with biovets and MSci Wild Animal Biology students and so am very conscious of the other courses that take place at Camden.
I have been at this campus since 2016, and thus know it rather well now. I have two years’ experience as a course representative (2016/17; 2018/19) which I believe will be of great use to the role as I am quite used to attending meetings, taking feedback from students and relaying it to the appropriate people, and managing emails. I also recently became a representative for the SVECCS committee and helped with a symposium. I believe this and forthcoming experience in this role will greatly help with my organisational skills for events such as the fresher’s fair which the Camden officer is quite involved with and the distribution of lockers. I am familiar with the job role, as I have discussed at length what it entails with the current officer and am keen to step in. Vote Simone!
