I am running for VP welfare to improve students wellbeing and make their time at university as healthy and enjoyable as possible.
I would like to introduce a service where student voices are heard and their opinions are acknowledged to a degree where action is taken. In my position as Bsc Year 2 Course Representative, I have already portrayed the views of many students and I would like to continue this as VP welfare. I think students time in Camden is integral to starting their time off at university in the most positive way. Therefore I want to enhance their time here through implementing advice on settling in, advice on living away from home and overall help on how to manage their first few years. Mental health is something that sits close to my heart and I want to focus on students being as happy and healthy as possible. It isn’t always easy to know if someone is struggling but if advice is advertised and made easy to reach then it may encourage students to seek help or give other students advice on how to help each other. I’m kind, friendly and approachable which I think makes me suited to this role. I make time for anyone and am always here to listen. I believe the RVC should be a thriving learning environment for students and we should all enjoy our time here.
