Hi everyone! I'm Ceri and I'm hoping to be your VP for Welfare!

I'm running for this position because student welfare is something I'm extremely passionate about. I think everyone should feel safe and happy in their educational environment.

I know too well myself what it's like to struggle with feeling different after being diagnosed with depression at age 17. Coming to this uni and becoming part of the Student's Union as Equality and Diversity Officer gave me the chance to be open about my struggle and help others that were, or indeed still are; in similar situations. This university has shaped me into the person I am today. I am strong headed, determined and loud, and will fight for what I believe in with all I have. And what do I believe? That everyone deserves the chance to be who they are without having to worry.

As E&D Officer I campaigned for Black History Month, worked with the president of RCVS to improve bioscience and vet nurse moral and mental health awareness in the veterinary profession.

If I'm elected Welfare Officer I will put everything I have into ensuring that every student has access to any welfare services they may need. I will continue to support the different groups of people we have at this university and give every student a voice.

I am a strong believer that it takes courage to be who you are.
