SVECCS 2026 Symposium
We’re thrilled to announce our 2026 Symposium! A full-day, conference-style event bringing together students and industry experts for a day packed with Emergency & Critical Care learning, practical skills, and networking.
Morning Seminars With options across small animal, equine, and exotics, our seminars are designed to be interactive, practical, and clinically relevant. Highlights include:
● Dr. Rui Assunção – ECG Essentials Breaking “pattern-recognition” habits and focusing on what you actually need to assess, with case discussions to bring it all together.
● Dr. Liga MacEniene – Surgical Emergencies A start-to-finish walkthrough of an emergency surgical case, covering stabilisation, drug choices, procedure considerations, and post-op complications. ● Dr. Alexandra Guillen – “Is It Cancer?” A practical, structured approach to diagnosing and managing cancer in small animals.
● Dr. Sam King (Vets Now) – GDV Recognition, stabilisation, and management of one of the most time-critical emergencies.
● Dr. Alex Hawkins – Equine ECC Case Series Interactive, case-based discussion building clinical reasoning for all year groups.
Afternoon Practicals After lunch (and a chance to grab some merch!), we’ll run 4–6 practical sessions — from our popular Ultrasound and CPR stations to an all new practical of unblocking a cat! The ultrasound practical topic is POCUS for respiratory disease.
