Our Angels, Devils and Heroes are current students who will be out and about with you at all events during freshers week!

Look out for them, as well as our Event Safety Coordinator, on nights out and at our wristband handouts if you need help, advice, or just want a chat.

When you head out to Freshers events, you’ll see fellow students wearing ADH (Angels, Devils & Heroes) shirts. They’re there to make sure everyone has a safe, fun night and gets home okay.

Why you can trust them

All ADHs complete training with the Advice Centre and the SU Events Safety Coordinator before they volunteer at events. In training they cover things like:

· Looking out for others - spotting if someone’s lost, unwell, or needs help getting home

· Staying safe on nights out - including what to do if there are concerns about spiking

· Consent & respectful behaviour - making sure everyone feels safe and respected

· Being an active bystander - how to step in safely if something doesn’t feel right

· Boundaries & confidentiality - listening and helping without taking on too much themselves

· Where to get more support - so they can point you towards the right services if you need them

What this means for you

If you ever feel uncomfortable, overwhelmed, or just need a bit of help, you can go straight to an ADH or the SU event safety coordinator. They’re approachable, trained, and know when to step in themselves or when to link you up with extra support (like the Advice Centre, security, or welfare services). They’re not there to judge or lecture you, just to look out for you and make sure you have the best time possible!
