Alcohol Safety
Alcohol Safety
Alcohol may seem to play a large role in student social activities, however you won’t be left out if you don’t drink.
We put on a lot of events at Freshers and throughout the year that do not revolve around alcohol, so you’ll always feel involved.
If you do drink however, there are steps to follow to make sure you’re safe throughout the night:
Don’t accept drinks from strangers, and never leave your drink unattended.
Plan your night out and ensure you have a safe way to get home - During Freshers Week transport advice will be emailed out before all off-campus events.
Don’t drink on an empty stomach, make sure you eat well before you party.
Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, try to make every third drink a soft one.
At Freshers events - look out for the SU's Angels, Devils & Heros - they will be wearing Red, Green or Blue branded tshirts, and are there to look out for you.
Make sure your friends know where you are at all times
Look out for your friends on nights out, and make sure they do the same for you!
