Thalia worked closely with course reps to ensure student voices were heard, particularly for BVM3 students facing uncertainty around travel to exam locations during transport strikes. By securing university-funded coach transport, Thalia helped remove a major source of anxiety, ensuring students could get to exams reliably and focus on performing their best rather than worrying about logistics.

After Thalia fed back student concerns around food prep facilities to the university, a refrigerator was been sourced and installed in Hawkshead House. She also worked with Estates to source more appliances - two microwaves and another refrigerator have been installed in the student kitchen next to the Alumni Lecture Theatre.

Following feedback from BVM3, Thalia met with Mike Hewetson and John Fishwick to discuss the construction noise next to the Alumni Lecture Theatre. After further discussions (including the Timetabling Committee), BVM3 will now be based in the Main Lecture Theatre for term 3.

Feedback from the 62 Course Reps across different programmes was collected following the CMC meetings and shared with Thalia. She’ll be working with the wider SU team and the university to implement your requests as best as possible over the coming months. Key themes included: timetabling issues, clearer assessment wording, annotated answers/mark schemes, clearer navigation on Learn pages, and more.

She also collaborated with the National Union of Students, contributing to national advocacy that led to a Parliamentary inquiry into student loan repayment terms.
