I am incredibly excited to serve my fellow students as RVC SU President for the fast-approaching academic year of 2025/2026! I have been overwhelmed with support for my aspirations for this role and I have thoroughly enjoyed speaking with so many of the current students about what they are hoping for in the coming year. Though my plans for initiatives will continue to evolve based on the feedback I receive from the student body, there are already numerous ideas for which I am ambitious to advocate. It is an absolute honor to be elected into this position and it is not a responsibility I take lightly. My ultimate goal is to honor the collective student body as they have honored me and to lead with compassion, prioritizing communication and community, as we move into a new year. I look forward to engaging with more students, learning more about the inter-workings of our school, and building an even stronger SU!
Some of my plans include:
- Getting involved in local Potters Bar Farmers Market
- Using their produce in our Cafeteria
- Having an RVC farm stand at the bi-monthly market
- Weekly/Monthly Updates
- Short videos highlighting RVC sports events, upcoming SU events, ways to get involved in the community, etc.
- Ensuring accessible washrooms at all SU events
- Promoting casual research presentations
- Extra practice for research students
- Chance for other students to learn about research happening at the RVC
- Advocate for more food options for those with food restrictions
- ‘Free-From’ bake sales
- More vegan options in the cafeteria
- Annual Night of Honor
-
A chance to come together to recognize the challenges of our personal lives (loss of a pet, loss or illness of a family member, struggling being far from home, etc.) and to support each other as a community
-
A chance to remember you are not alone
What I look forward to the most:
- Getting to know more people at the RVC and doing my absolute best to represent everyone as wholly as possible!
