The John Dainou Memorial Match

On Saturday 14th November, RVC Rugby will be coming together to remember and celebrate the life of our much-loved friend and teammate, John Dainou.

John was a huge part of the RVC Rugby family, both on and off the pitch. His loss has been devastating to so many and we want to come together as a community to honour his memory, celebrate the friendships he made and raise awareness of men’s mental health.

We will be hosting a memorial rugby match between RVC Men’s Rugby and Alumni/Staff, followed by the retirement of John’s beloved number 15 jersey and an evening of celebrating his life in the Buttery.

All proceeds will go towards Movember, supporting men’s mental health and suicide prevention, a cause that was important to John himself.

🏉 Kick-off: 2pm; arrive from 1:30pm

🍻 After-celebration: 5pm till 11pm, The Buttery


RVC Women’s Rugby will also be running a cake and coffee stall, with proceeds going towards the fundraising.

Whether you knew John personally or not, everyone is welcome. Come along, support the players, share some memories and help us celebrate someone who meant so much to so many.
