Exotics Animal Handling Practical

Wed 21 May 2025 18:00-20:00

Demonstration Theatre, Camden Campus

Join the Zoological Society for an exciting hands-on session with exotic species, including birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians and mammals! Exotics Explorer, a mobile zoo based in Essex, will provide demonstrations on handling these animals, then allowing students to practice their skills.

Whether you’re looking to deepen your knowledge of exotic species or seeking some therapeutic animal interaction, this practical may be just what you need to unwind as we approach the end of term.

Here is a list of animals you may get to encounter!

*Subject to change based on animals’ conditions

Session 1 (6-7pm): Hedgehog, skunk, tegu, iguana, white’s tree frogs

Session 2 (7-8pm): Owl, Harris hawk, kestrel, ferret, big snake

Just a friendly reminder that this event involves live animals, which may pose an unlikely risk of minor injuries. Participants are responsible for being careful when handling animals.
