LGBTQ+ History talk w/ Ben Paites

Join us and Ben Paites, a Curator from othe Colchester and Ipswich Museums coming to talk about sexuality and gender non conformity in the past, from around 2000 years ago to the present day, highlighting as many elements of the LGBTQ+ community today and how we can see evidence of this throughout history. From pirate weddings to transgender Roman priests, it is clear that LGBTQ+ people have always been here but their stories have often been hidden. The focus will be on British history, but I will touch on some international historical figures and events.
